David Ashby

Managing Director and Principal Underwriter

Following a lifetime interest in horses, racing and steeplechasing, David became involved in the Bloodstock insurance world as a Loss Adjustor in the 1980s, and then made the transition to the risk business, with a Lloyd’s syndicate in 1983. He has worked in Lloyd’s ever since. David remains an active horse owner, rider and competitor.

Laura Brown

Laura joined MS Amlin Equine in December 2007. Having grown up with horses and then spending 3 years working in racing, she decided on a move to London, and Bloodstock insurance proved the perfect combination of interests and career. Laura’s background is in racing, showing and hunting. She still rides when she can but time constraints tend to limit this to just the odd day out hunting.

Siena Knight Bruce

Siena joined MS Amlin Equine in October 2012 after graduating from the University of Exeter with a first class degree in Business Management. Siena comes from a hunting family, and evented up to 2* level, competing in the Junior and Young Rider trials. She continues to return to Devon whenever she can to hunt at the weekends and enjoys showing at county level.

Heidi Roberts

Heidi joined MS Amlin Equine in April 2011 after 6 years working at Hiscox, with 2 of those years working as deputy to Julian Lloyd in the Bloodstock team. Heidi has a degree in Equine Science from Hartpury College and spent 2 years before joining Hiscox, working for a small horse insurance company dealing with underwriting and claims. Heidi has 2 horses of her own that she rides when she can. One is semi-retired and the other is an ex-racehorse that she hopes to compete in dressage competitions and ROR classes.

Rebecca Cole

Rebecca joined the MS Amlin Equine team in April 2015 having previously worked in financial services. She has a degree in Bioveterinary Science from The Royal Veterinary College. Rebecca has a passion for all equine disciplines and has successfully competed in Eventing.

Matthew Donnelly

Underwriting Assistant

Matt joined MS Amlin Equine in 2016 as he wanted to combine his passion of horse racing with an exciting and sustainable career within insurance.  Having previously worked in the insurance market from a recruitment perspective, he has a solid grounding of the market and looks to continue to develop professionally with MS Amlin. Outside of work, Matt likes to be involved in sports and social activities, participating across a wide range of sports including Football, Golf, Cricket, Snooker and GAA sports.

Terrie Frazer

Assistant Underwriter

Terrie joined MS Amlin Equine in August 2014 after seeing out her fifth breeding season in the thoroughbred world. She has had an insight into the thoroughbred breeding operation on an international level after having spent two breeding seasons in the Southern Hemisphere working for Coolmore Australia, as well as Catlehyde Stud and Glenview Stud in Ireland. Terrie graduated in 2012 from the University of Limerick with a degree in Equine Science. She has always had a love for horses, competing in local gymkanas and hunter trials from an early age as well as going on to ride out for a local national hunt trainer.

Siobhan Doolan

Underwriting Assistant

Siobhan joined MS Amlin Equine in May 2016 as David’s PA and has since moved across into Underwriting. Siobhan graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2014 with a BSc Hons in Equine Science and Thoroughbred Management. She is an Amateur Jockey on the Flat, National Hunt and Point to Pointing, so she spends most weekends travelling the country. Siobhan is also enjoys running during the week to maintain her fitness. 

Danielle Djemal

Assistant Underwriter

Danielle joined MS Amlin Equine in March 2015. She has a degree in Equine Breeding and Stud Management from Writtle College and prior to joining MS Amlin, spent 1 year working for Dengie Horse Feeds and 2 years as an account handler in the equine team at Shearwater Insurance Services. Danielle has grown up riding horses and now has two of her own which she competes in local dressage competitions when she can.

Charlotte Walters

Underwriting Assistant

Charlotte started working at MS Amlin Equine in 2017 and graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2016 with a First Class Honours in Human Biology Bsc. Charlotte has grown up with horses and her background is in showing, where she has competed at the Royal International Horse Show and came 3rd at Horse of the Year Show in the M+M WHP class. In her spare time, Charlotte events her own homebred Connemara and this year she competed at the Mitsubishi Motors Cup.
