MS Amlin celebrates International Women's Day
This year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme is #BalanceforBetter and centres on the idea of building a gender balanced world, which is essential for economies and communities to thrive. Here at MS Amlin we understand the importance of gender parity, but also acknowledge that we as an organisation and industry as a whole, still have some way to go.
A recent study from the Association of British Insurers (ABI), however, shows that things are moving in the right direction. The study revealed that gender diversity has improved at nearly all levels across the insurance industry, with the proportion of women on executive teams increasing by five percentage points.
In recognition of International Women’s Day, MS Amlin’s Chair, Shonaid Jemmett-Page, and Chief People Officer, Vivian Leinster, discuss their personal journeys in the industry and discuss what the day means to them in a short video.
At MS Amlin we continue to look for programmes and activities aimed at fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce. We have recently run Diversity Matters sessions across our offices globally, allowing our employees the opportunity to help define our D&I strategy and programme. In addition, we have recently overhauled our recruitment practices to ensure we have a diverse selection of candidates for every role.
We are also excited to be giving away tickets to the 2019 Women of the Square Mile event to five lucky employees, a hugely successful sell-out event dedicated to driving gender diversity in the financial services sector.
