MS Amlin’s parent company, the MS&AD Insurance Group, has been awarded CDP ‘A’ List status for its efforts to combat climate change. CPD was formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project and runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.
This is the highest rating and MS&AD is one of just 112 out of 6,000 major companies worldwide to be awarded this rating by the CDP.
In 2017, CDP set the bar even higher than previous years – raising the A-list threshold and making the ratings more competitive and more coveted than in previous years.
In addition to efforts to reduce energy consumption in response to climate change, MS&AD provides insurance products and services that also help customers and suppliers respond to climate change.
Adrian Britten, Director of Brand & Communications at MS Amlin said: “Here at MS Amlin we’re proud to have played our part in achieving this ‘A’ rating for our environmental policies as part of MS&AD. It’s a fantastic achievement and one we aspire to build on as we provide continuity to our customers, clients and the watching world.”
MS&AD Insurance Group has made the environment a key part of its corporate strategy and has identified a set of key issues. These issues are: mitigation of and adaptation to climate change, sustainable use of resources, reduction of environmental burden and preservation of biodiversity.
With this strategic guidance, MS&AD continues to deliver against its mission; to contribute to the development of a vibrant society and help secure a sound future for the earth, by bringing security and safety through the global insurance and financial services business.
The MS&AD group has a wide range of policies which demonstrate its commitments to these aims, from initiatives delivered through products and services, to raising awareness among all executives and employees. You can read more about these here.
